Number of Chechens entering Poland decreases against new reasons for search of asylum

In November, the number of natives of Chechnya, who have succeeded in getting Europe from Brest through Terespol, does not exceed ten persons per day, while the number was twice as large in the mid-October. This was calculated by human rights defenders.

At present, at least one thousand Chechen natives seeking for asylum still stay in Brest. This was reported by Vyacheslav Panasiuk, a coordinator of the legal branch of the Refugees Assistance Mission in Brest, created by the human rights organization "Human Constanta".

Meanwhile, according to Vyacheslav Panasiuk, "Ramzan Kadyrov's men" permanently stay in Brest. They force natives of Chechnya, who want to go to Europe, to give up the idea, and in case if the "Ramzan Kadyrov's men" manage to identify family members of an asylum seeker, then in Chechnya, his relatives found themselves under pressure.

Vyacheslav Panasiuk has noted that recently, Chechnya "began to put pressure" not only on Wahhabis or critics of Ramzan Kadyrov, but also on the men who fought on the side of the self-proclaimed Ichkeria in the first and second wars in the 1990s. Besides, the number of reasons for which people seek to leave Chechnya now also includes the practice of forced recruitment for fight in Syria or Ukraine.

Ilya Azar, a special correspondent of the "Medusa", was also told by natives of Chechnya that they had to leave Chechnya because of their blood relations with killed Wahhabis, torture with use of sexual assault recorded on video, with publication of which they were later blackmailed, inability to receive full salaries for employees of state-owned enterprises, and harsh suppression of any forms of dissent.
