Family members of suspected culprit of fatal road traffic accident in Chechnya leave their village

All the men of the family of Alam Khadjaev, whom investigators believe to be a person guilty of a large-scale road traffic accident in Chechnya, have left their village. This was reported by local residents, who pointed out to the fact that the road traffic accident could provoke a case of blood feud.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of November 28, not far from the Chernorechensky checkpoint on the highway "Kavkaz" in Chechnya, a driver of a Ford car drove into oncoming traffic and made a head-on collision with VAZ-21014 car. After that, the car was thrown to a Lada Priora car which followed it. As a result of the road traffic accident, seven people were killed on the spot. Two others were hospitalized.

"All the men of the family of Alam Khadjaev have left the village. Their relative is guilty of the road traffic accident, which killed seven people, including children and a young woman. It is a blood feud, and, according to our customs, for one killed woman, the injured party has the right to kill two men from the family of the killer," the "Caucasian Knot" was told by Imran, a local resident.

He has explained that, according to the ancient Chechen customs, men of the family of the killer should almost immediately leave their houses, and only women and children can stay in the houses, since the blood feud does not cover them.

According to the law enforcement authorities, over the past four years, Alam Khadjaev was fined 18 times for traffic violations.
