Traffic rules infringers promise Ramzan Kadyrov not to drink alcohol

During the raids, launched on September 28, Chechen policemen detained 10,104 drivers, who violated the traffic rules. This was learned by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent from the law enforcement bodies of the Chechen Republic.

On October 28, inGrozny, 180 people detained for driving in a state of alcoholic intoxication were gathered at the building of the Chechen road police (known as GIBDD). The offenders were addressed by Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov.

"Do you swear to our people not to drink alcoholic beverages for the sake of Allah? Raise your hands who swear!" Ramzan Kadyrov addressed the offenders.

All offenders raised their hands to confirm their consent, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports with reference to a report of the "Grozny" TV Channel.

One of the offenders, brought to the meeting, said he had been forced to swear.

"It was something like the second series in a movie. Yet at the beginning of the month, I was detained for driving a car in a state of alcoholic intoxication. The case is sent to the court, and they are going to revoke my driver's licence and fine me 30,000 roubles. Then, I and other offenders were at a story on the TV Channel. Yesterday, I got a call and asked to immediately come to the GIBB Department. It turned out it was a Ramzan's instruction. He again came together with the top-ranking officials of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and other superiors. For a long time, he spoke about the danger of drinking alcoholic beverages. Then he demanded from us to swear in the name of Allah that we would no longer do that. I had to agree, but what could I do?" the man told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
