135 people sign petition initiated by Sochi pensioners Donchi-ool
For five days, the petition initiated by Sochi spouses Klara and Valentin Donchi-ool against the police arbitrariness gained 135 signatures. The petition was sent to the Investigating Committee of the Russian federation (ICRF).
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in Sochi, Donchi-ool pensioners were charged with illegal felling of trees. The pensioners themselves claimed no relationship to cutting down of trees. They fought for the preservation of green spaces and, when they filed a complaint about illegal felling of trees, they in surprise for themselves suddenly become suspects in the case.
The online petition was initiated on October 17. As a t 00:05 a.m. of October 23, the petition collected 135 signatures.
"Being far from indifferent, we could not bear looking how green spaces in our yard, as well as around the city of Sochi, were subjected to destruction for commercial gain. Our appeals to almost all the instances have not brought any result," wrote Valentin Donchi-ool in the petition. He has explained that an anonymous complaint was filed against them and the criminal case was instituted, the investigation into which "is being carried out with gross violations of the law."
"Falsification of the case materials encouraged us to initiate a petition. We posted it on the Internet, addressed to citizens of Russia and foreign countries for help, and sent it to the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation to launch actions against its investigator," Valentin Donchi-ool told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
