Aram Manukyan left in custody by court judgement
The court has rejected the defence's motion to release Aram Manukyan, a son of one of the members of the "Sasna Tsrer" detachment, on bail. Manukyan needs special care after being wounded and undergoing surgery, his advocate asserts.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 27, Aram Manukyan and his father Pavel Manukyan were wounded in a shootout with policemen, when rebels held captured, on July 17-31, the building of the patrol-and-post service (PPS) police regiment in Yerevan. On August 29, Aram Manukyan was operated on at the "Erebuni" Medical Centre; and on September 5, he was returned to the prison hospital.
Today, the court refused to release Mr Manukyan Jr. on bail of one million drams (about 2100 US dollars), the advocate Inessa Petrosyan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
"The defence has justified the need of release on bail by the fact that Aram Manukyan has undergone a serious surgery, which resulted in his difficulties to walk on crutches and the need of special care; however, the court has judged that Manukyan could, given his state of health abscond or impede the investigation of his case," Ms Petrosyan has said.
