In Kabardino-Balkaria, three attackers on law enforcers flee place of incident

Law enforcers search for three men who were in a car together with Khizir Likhov, killed in a shootout with the police at night of August 14. In a boot of the car, in which the men involved in the incident were travelling, the law enforcers found a person whose hands were tied.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of August 14, a shootout occurred on the federal highway "Kavkaz". As a result of the shootout, Khizir Likhov, a leader of the armed underground, was killed.

The incident occurred on the highway near the village of Lesken. A police car was approached by a car with four men inside it. One of them asked the policemen to show the way to a nearby village. When a policeman got out of the car, one of the men attacked him with a knife, and another man opened fire from a pistol, while inside the car. The policemen opened fire on the attackers and killed one of them, while the others managed to escape from the scene. No policeman was injured, reports the website of the Investigating Department for Kabardino-Balkaria of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF).

According to the newspaper "Kommersant", the attackers left the car, in which they were travelling, near the place of the shootout. A driver with his hands tied was found in the car boot.
