Sochi Mayor's Office auctions off 28 Olympic cottages at reduced prices

In the village of Kraevo-Grecheskoe in Sochi, the prices for the cottages put up for auction are significantly lower than the ones at which the houses of the Olympic heritage fund were originally sold. According to residents of the villages, where the houses have already been sold, the most part of the houses are still empty.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in the summer of 2015, the authorities launched the auctions to sell the houses built during the preparations for the 2014 Olympic Games. According to residents of Sochi, the abandoned houses in the Olympic villages were systematically looted.

On August 11, the Sochi administration started accepting applications for the auction for the sale of houses with land plots, built for the Olympic Games in the residential area in the village of Kraevo-Grecheskoe in the Khosta District. This is one of the six villages constructed for the Olympic settlers. Applications for house purchase will be accepted until September 5, and the very auction will take place on September 14.

According to Tatiana Moskalenko, a staff member of the Department for Property Relations of the Sochi administration, 28 lots have been put up for auction.

All the houses put up for the auction are of two or three floors and land plots of 0.07 hectares. The largest house of 350 square meters can be purchased for 11 million roubles, and in average, the prices for houses are set at 30,000-32,000 roubles per square meter.

According to the city administration, visitors purchase the houses more often than local residents.

In total, since 2015, 215 houses in the six villages for Olympic settlers were transferred to the city balance, reports a member of the auction commission.
