Law enforcers detain two men suspected of beating Armenian journalists

17 journalists are recognized suffered from the obstruction of their activities and group hooliganism that took place in the capital of Armenia at night of July 30. Today, Yerevan hosts the rally in defence of freedom of speech.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 29, there was a march in support of the rebels dispersed by police. On July 30, 55 participants of the march and four policemen were hospitalized, and journalists also suffered.

Two people were detained on suspicion of obstructing the lawful professional activities of journalists and committing group hooliganism in the Yerevan residential quarter of Sari Tag at night of July 30, the press service of the Special Investigating Service (SIS) reports.

Let us remind you that in Armenia, four law enforcement officials are charged with abuse of power, obstructing the activities of the journalists, and damaging other people's property.

Today, the organizers of the rally have demanded to immediately punish the persons guilty of obstructing the activities of the journalists.
