About 90 former residents of Talish community move to Alashan

Residents of the Talish community in the Martakert District of Nagorno-Karabakh have been moved from hotels in Stepanakert to the village of Alashan of the Martakert District. The Ministry of Urban Development has renovated the former hospital buildings in Alashan, and the Ministry of Social Affairs provided the necessary furniture. According to the residents of Talish, they do not mind if places in Alashan are arranged for their accommodation until they are able to return to their native village.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that at night of April 2, combat actions started in the Karabakh conflict zone, during which the houses were damaged in the district centre of Martakert and the communities of Talish and Matagis.

People were evacuated from the village of Talish, and 26 families were accommodated at hotels and hostels in Stepanakert. The rest of the people went to Armenia.

According to Vilen Petrosyan, the head of the Talish community and the current head of the Alashan village, residents Alashan are not charged any fee for household and utilities.

Vilen Petrosyan has also added that the government has provided assistance to the families in the form of food products.

Regarding the employment, Vilen Petrosyan has noted that near the village of Alashan, there is a company for the construction of roads, and the Drmbonsky and Kashensky mines are operated. There are a number of other enterprises, and men can find job if they want.

According to officials from the Ministry of Education of Nagorno-Karabakh, the question of opening of a school in Alashan will be discussed in the coming days.

Karen Shakhramanyan, Minister of Urban Development of Nagorno-Karabakh, has reported that in the residential quarter of Novaya Kilikiya in the territory of the Kichan community of the Martakert District, the construction of 18 houses is to be completed soon.
