Valery Permyakov refuses to take part in investigative experiment

The court has dismissed the motion for appointment of an investigative experiment in the house of the Avetisyan family members killed in Gyumri, since defendant Valery Permyakov did not agree to participate in it. This was reported by Arthur Sakunts, who represented the interest of the successors of the Avetisyan family members.

Valery Permyakov, a serviceman of the 102nd Russian Military Base in Gyumri, is accused of killing seven Avetisyan family members in the city of Gyumri at night on January 12, 2015. He has admitted his guilt. Permyakov was sentenced by the Russian court to 10 years in prison on charges of desertion, theft and illegal possession of firearms.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in December 2015, the trial in the Valery Permyakov's case started in the territory of the 102nd Russian military base in Gyumri. The man accused of the murder of seven Avetisyan family members pleaded guilty.

At the today's court hearing, the motion for appointment of an investigative experiment in the house of the killed Avetisyan family members was filed by human rights activist Arthur Sakunts, head of the Vanadzor Office of the Helsinki Initiative, who represented at the court hearing the interests of the successors of the Avetisyan family members.

Arthur Sakunts has told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that there is a need to find out the circumstances of the incident.

However, according to him, the court has dismissed the motion and refused to conduct the investigative experiment in the house of the Avetisyan family members.

Arthur Sakunts has noted that in this case, under the Criminal Code, Valery Permyakov should have agreed with carrying out of the investigative experiment. "But he has refused to take part in it," said Arthur Sakunts.
