Experts do not support Kadyrov's optimism as to IS' potentials

The country's authorities should treat seriously the threats against Russia, expressed by the "Islamic State" (IS), a terrorist organization, banned by the court in Russia, said the experts, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot". Thus, they did not support the opinion of the acting head of Chechnya that the IS has no real power and capacity to commit terror acts in Russia.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the IS, banned in Russia by the court and recognized as a terrorist organization, had issued a video calling for a jihad in Russia.

The Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov named the IS' threats "a phony". "I state with my full responsibility that this 'statement' is a phony, which has no real powers and potentials behind," Kadyrov wrote on August 1 in his Instagram.

The threat of militants of the IS may be "followed by real crimes," said Orkhan Jemal, a special correspondent of the "Dozhd" (Rain) TV Channel.

"It would be very strange not to take these threats seriously; moreover that this grouping has already demonstrated that relying on a network of its supporters, it can commit attacks far beyond Syria and Iraq," Orkhan Jemal told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Russian special services should treat seriously the threats of the militants of the IS, banned in Russia by the court and recognized as a terrorist organization, believes Mikhail Roschin, a senior fellow at the Centre for Studying Central Asia, Caucasus and Ural-Volga Region of the Institute of Oriental Studies at the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS).

"The militants' threats do not say that a terror act will surely be committed, but special services should seriously treat information," Mikhail Roschin told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
