Sochi authorities promise to pay compensations to flood victims

The families-victims of the flood will receive a lump sum compensation of 100,000 roubles each, said officials from the Sochi City Mayoralty.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 4 heavy showers hit Sochi and caused landslides, which blocked the road in the Lazarevskoe District to the villages of Alekseevka, Tatianovka, Maryino and Tkhagapsh. Some streets in the city were flooded. Rescuers evacuated 29 people from Tkhagapsh. On June 5, the City Commission for Emergencies decided to introduce the regime of local emergency situation in Tkhagapsh, Maryino and Tatianovka.

According to a source from the Sochi Mayoralty, today, members of the above commission began examining the households, damaged by the flood, and compiling the list of victims. "The families, whose household have been affected by the flood, will receive a lump sum compensation of 100,000 roubles each," the "Interfax" quotes the Mayoralty spokesman as saying.
