Anapa Cossacks declare non-involvement in attack on Navalny
Members of the Anapa District Cossack Society tried to stop a brawl in the city airport, Cossacks assert. According to preliminary data, six supporters of the Fund to Fight Corruption (FFC) suffered; one of them was hospitalized.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Alexei Navalny, an oppositionist and the head of the FFC, and his employees, who are on a tourist trip in the Krasnodar Territory, were attacked today by unidentified persons at the Anapa Airport.
Cossacks-voluntary guards "have attacked nobody," said Ivan Petrov, the on duty person of the Anapa District Cossack Society. According to his version, the statements of the FFC employees are "unacceptable".
The Navalny group "was attacked by men in camouflage uniform, whom Cossacks do not know," said Ivan Petrov. According to his version, Cossacks performed their duties of guarding the public order at the airport.
A source from the Anapa linear division of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for transports said that they are accepting applications from the victims.
In his turn, Dmitry Gudkov, a State Duma MP, has sent a deputy's request to Vladimir Kolokoltsev, the head of the Russian MIA.
