Residents of Baku assess negatively new procedure of defining winner of "Eurovision"

The change of rules of evaluating the performers and a separate voting of the professional jury and spectators at the "Eurovision-2016" song contest had influenced negatively the objectivity in defining the winners, said the residents of Baku, interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The contest "Eurovision-2016" was held on May 10-14 with the participation of singers and music bands from Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Ukrainian singer Jamala won the contest with the song "1944".

The new rules of evaluating the performers at the "Eurovision" have "strengthened the subjective factor," said Shakir Imanov, a civil engineer from Baku.

Leyla Rzaeva, a teacher of mathematics at a secondary school, said that the "Eurovision" is becoming more and more politicized. She expressed regret that the Azerbaijani singer took the 17th place only.

Let us remind you that on May 10, the Armenia's performer Iveta Mukuchyan, live on air, during the announcement of the voting results of the semi-final of the "Eurovision-2016", raised the flag of Nagorno-Karabakh; and the Azerbaijani Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) has expressed its dissatisfaction with the fact.
