Law enforcers report about detention of two KBR residents involved in warfare in Syria

Since the beginning of 2016, the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR) found no local residents who intended to join Syrian militants. Meanwhile, in the territory of North Ossetia, law enforcers detained two men involved in combat actions in Syria, and one more man was killed. This was reported by Oleg Usov, the chief of the Russian FSB Department for the KBR.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 5, Kazbek Tatuev, Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, reported on 28 women who joined the Syrian terrorists.

The "TASS" reports with reference to Oleg Usov that, according to law enforcers, in 2014-2015, about 140 people left Kabardino-Balkaria to take part in combat actions in the Middle East.

In total, according to the report submitted by Oleg Usov at the coordination meeting to ensure the rule of law and the meeting of the Security Council of the KBR, since the beginning of 2016, in Kabardino-Balkaria, 29 accomplices of illegal armed formations (IAFs) were arrested, and four others were killed.

Oleg Usov has also noted that during the two years, in the KBR, FSB agents organized 306 events and 27 counterterrorist operations (CTOs), during which 94 militants were killed and 135 accomplices of members of the armed underground were detained.
