Leader of local militants detained in Sogratl

On April 18, during detention in the village of Sogratl, Ali Kveshov, a native of the village, who had been searched, was wounded, said a law enforcement source from the Gunib District of Dagestan. According to his version, Kveshov is the leader of local militants.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 18, in a street of Sogratl, a policeman noticed a man, similar in his signs to a members of the armed underground, who, when asked to stop, threw away his backpack and tried to run away. As a result, the policeman opened fire; the man was wounded and detained.

Ali Kveshov, born in 1991, went into hiding more than three years ago and was considered to be the leader of the "Sogratl" subversive and terrorist grouping, said a source from the district power structures.

Since 2013, Kveshov was thought to be the leader of the "Gunib" militant grouping, the "Chernovik" reports with reference to its law enforcement source. According to this source, the 25-year-old Akhmed Shamkhalov, who was killed during a special operation on April 14, was a member of the same grouping.
