Paris welcomes days of Dagestan
In Paris, the exhibition "Culture. People. Dagestan" has launched the Days of Dagestan, which are devoted to the 2000th anniversary of Derbent.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in September, Derbent celebrated its 2000th anniversary. The festivities took place in several venues in the city. In 2006, at the ceremony of the UNESCO award, Derbent was granted the "Honorary Diploma 2006" for spreading the ideas of tolerance and non-violence through education, art, culture, and science.
At Paris Square of Fontenoy, Salle des Pas Perdus opened the exhibition "Culture. People. Dagestan," the "Interfax" reports with reference to Dagestani leader Ramazan Abdulatipov.
According to the Dagestani leader, the festivities will be completed with "Potter's Wheel", a musical and theatrical chronicle of 2000 years. It will show the historical reconstruction of everyday life, traditions, and customs of residents of Derbent.
The purpose of the event is to demonstrate Derbent as a unique monument of history, culture, architecture, and archaeology. Besides, during the Days of Dagestan in Paris, Ramazan Abdulatipov is to meet representatives of business circles of France, the RIA "Dagestan" reports.
