Dwelling settlements along the whole Ardon River need to upgrade their sewage treatment facilities

All the dwelling settlements, located in the Alagir District, along the Ardon River, have problems with wastewater treatment, said the spokesperson for the "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Agency for Consuming Supervision) for North Ossetia. The control over water intakes and purification facilities was entrusted to the special commission under the republic's parliament.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that a mass poisoning occurred in the North-Ossetian city of Alagir. As of June 18, the total count of those, who applied for medical aid, made 1092.

According to Taimuraz Galaov, who was the head, in 2004-2014, of the Mizur rural settlement, the flooding in summer of 2002 seriously damaged the infrastructure facilities, including sewage treatment plants. However, according to his story, since then, for lack of funding, they failed to re-launch the purification facilities, which could exclude the penetration of village sewage into the floodplain of the nearby river.

On June 18, the republic set up a special parliamentary commission for supervising the work of the water supply system.

Let us remind you that on June 17 they commissioned a new water disinfection plant on the Gusarin water main – one of the three sources of drinking water for the city of Alagir.
