Resident of Chechnya, earlier convicted for involvement in armed underground, suspected of illegal arms circulation

Ruslan Khasiev, a resident of the city of Grozny, is suspected of illegal possession of firearms and ammunition, said a source from the Chechen prosecutor's office. Earlier, he was convicted on same charges and for involvement in the armed underground.

According to the source, on May 20, during a search of the flat of the 34-year-old Khasiev, a pistol with two loaded magazines was found.

"Given the suspect's earlier conviction for participating in an illegal armed formation (IAF), he was placed behind bars; the investigation of his criminal case continues," the source from the prosecutor's office told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Khasiev is under threat of up to four years in prison.
