Protest rally against demarcation held at Georgia-South-Ossetian border
In Georgia, in the area of the pre-border settlement of Atotsi public activists held a protest action against building of engineering facilities on the border with South Ossetia.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in May 2013 the Georgian party stated that Russian border guards had moved the border by 300 meters in the direction of the Shida Kartli region. According to local residents, the barbed wire stretched by the guards runs right across the territory of dwelling settlements.
The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports that on March 3 about 500 people with Georgian and Ukrainian national flags came up to the border with South Ossetia, chanting "Russia – fascists! Russia – occupiers! Entire world is against Putin and Russia!"
A flow of obscenities was poured in the direction of South Ossetian border guards and journalists, complemented with whistles and obscene gestures. Then, a group of radical guys sang the anthem of Georgia. Everything what happened was watched by the Georgian police.
