Euromaidan strongly impacts countries of Southern Caucasus, say participants of public hearings in Tbilisi

The events in Ukraine have had an impact on the society and politicians in Armenia, Georgia and Azerbaijan, said participants of the hearings held in Tbilisi on the topic "Euromaidan and its impact on countries of Southern Caucasus". The events in Ukraine have united citizens of Georgia, said the journalist Ilya Beroshvili. His colleague Zaven Vardanyan has stressed that if the nomenclature of Armenia wanted a quiet life, without Maidans, they must change their style of work. A political analyst Zafar Guliev believes that after the victory of Euromaidan, the Azerbaijani authorities will continue their cautious course of step-by-step rapprochement with the West and integration into Western structures.

The public hearings were held at the Centre for Cultural Interrelations "Caucasian House" in Tbilisi on February 22. The event was attended by about 50 persons, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

When the confrontation in Kiev got escalated, a trend evolved among users of social networks in Georgia to support Euromaidan; it was supported even by those, who have never been ardent supporters of the pro-Western orientation of Georgia, Ilya Beroshvili told the audience.

Let us remind you that regular mass rallies in support of participants of Euromaidan began in Tbilisi since last November. Three citizens of Georgia perished during the riots in Kiev.

The events in Ukraine have affected the Armenian public and the authorities, said Zaven Vardanyan. He noted that the experience of Ukrainian colleagues can help in defining Armenia's road closer to Europe.
