In Karabulak, refugees and IDPs massively evicted, residents of TAC "Promzhilbaza" report

Bailiffs carry out massive evictions of refugees from Grozny and internally displaced persons (IDPs) from the Prigorodny District, who lived at the temporary accommodation centre (TAC) "Promzhilbaza", located in the Ingush town of Karabulak. According to local residents, the promises of the authorities to allocate funds to rent housing for the TAC residents remain unfulfilled.

Let us remind you that on April 11, the Karabulak City Court granted the motion filed by the city administration and pronounced the decision to evict 35 residents of the TAC "Promzhilbaza". On July 1, ten local residents went on a hunger strike, demanding to issue housing certificates to all families of immigrants living at the TAC. On October 23, 43 families were evicted from the premises of the TAC "Promzhilbaza".

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told by Asya Khadisova that court marshals evict large families, families with a disabled child or older persons.

While the local residents are on hunger strike, the authorities of Ingushetia have promised to allocate from the budget 5000 roubles per family per month to rent housing in the private sector for IDPs. Marida Chakhkieva, an IDP from Prigorodny District, has said that officials fail to fulfil their promise.

Meanwhile, Magomed Bariev, Mayor of the town of Karabulak, has declared that many people have already received the money to pay for rent.

On October 10, at the International Conference of Ombudsmen, Yunus-Bek Evkurov promised to resolve all problems related to the housing of refugees and residents of landslide zone till the end of 2015.
