Dagestani SC judge and his son die in hospital

Mukhtar Shapiev, a judge of the Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan and his son have died from their wounds, as Rasul Temirbekov, the spokesman of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) in Dagestan, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

Let us remind you that tonight in Makhachkala an armed attack was committed on Mukhtar Shapiev, a Dagestani SC judge; his son who was with him has also suffered in the shelling.

According to Temirbekov, the wounded relatives were taken to the City Hospital No. 1 of Makhachkala; however, their wounds were incompatible with life; and both died in the hospital.

"According to preliminary information, the incident occurred at about 8:45 p.m. in Gaidar Street. There were two attackers, who opened fire at the judge and his son who was with him," said Temirbekov.

An investigation team is now studying the scene of the accident.
