Resident of Krasnodar suspected of public justification of terrorism

The Investigative Committee of the Krasnodar Territory has opened a criminal case against a local man who had allegedly posted an article justifying terrorism on the Internet.

The Centre for Combating Extremism of the Chief Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the KrasnodarTerritory has found that the 40-year-old resident of Krasnodar had posted an article on his blog where he gave a positive estimation to terrorist activities of illegal armed formations (IAFs) in Northern Caucasus.

The law enforcers have seen in the article also the incitement of interethnic hatred. The criminal case has been initiated under Articles 282, Part 1, and Article 205.2, Part 1, of the Russian Criminal Code – actions aimed at inciting interethnic hatred or hostility, and public incitement to terrorist activities, or public justification of terrorism, says the website of the above MIA's Chief Department for the KrasnodarTerritory.

So far, there are no comments from the suspect or his representatives.
