Akki Chechens in Dagestan suspended the action of protest for two months
Akki Chechens who are holding an action in Novolaksly district of Dagestan demanding to return them the lands that belonged to them until deportation suspended their meeting and unblocked the highway.
“On February, 26, after a long-term negotiation and persuasion, the elders still urged the youth who made the majority of protesters to break up and give the authorities two months to settle our problems. If our demands are not granted until April, 26, we will start a more large-scale and open-ended meeting”, leader of the protesters’ staff Ramzan Khiziev said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
According to the duty officer of Road Patrol Service of Novolaksly district police, there was a small traffic jam on the first day but it did not last long for the people started using a bypass road.
