Nino Burdjanadze came to Public Prosecutor’s office in Georgia for interrogation
Interrogation of ex-Speaker of the Parliament, leader of “Democratic movement – United Georgia” party Nino Burdjanadze, on the events of May, 26, 2011, is currently going on in Tbilisi.
On May, 21, 2011, a series of protest actions with the demand of Mikhail Saakashvili’s resignation started in Georgia and ended in a coercive dispersal of a meeting. According to human rights activists, four persons perished and over 300 were arrested.
There is no information of Nino Burdjanadze’s ill health as a result of this long-term interrogation, Press Service of “Democratic movement – United Georgia” party reported.
Before interrogation Burdjanadze told the journalists that she intended to collaborate with the investigation and provide unbiased information, “Tbilisi Week” reports.
Earlier, she called the dispersal of the meeting “a crime against humanity”.
