The bench on the case of assault at Nalchik challenged

During today’s trial on the case of assault at Nalchik lawyer Oleg Kelemetov challenged the bench. The reason was removal of defendant Edward Mironov from the courtroom.

Mironov was removed from the courtroom during the session of February, 25. It happened after three defendants, Mironov among them, objected against assignment new attorneys to them for the period of Murat Zekoreev’s illness.

“Mironov had a nervous breakdown, however, it was triggered by unlawful actions of the court, i.e. assignment of new attorneys to whom the court gave no time to study the materials of the case”, Oleg Kelemetov declared.

Then he pointed out that lawyer Marat Ozorkov appointed Zalim Dugulubkov’s second attorney did not know which pages of the criminal case should be read out.

The lawyer called Mironov’s “form of expressing emotions” “inadmissible” but remarked that Mironov was not given an opportunity to vindicate himself or apologize. Mironov was removed just before he should have given evidence, the lawyer stated.

The motion of challenge to the bench signed by a number of defendants was announced by the above mentioned defendant Zalim Dugulubkov.

On holding immediate counsel the court resolved not to moot the motion and bring no judgment concerning it.
