Campaign headquarters of the presidential election in Armenia reported violations during voting
“Nasledie” (“Heritage”) party whose Chairman Raffi Ovanissyan, one of the candidates for presidency of Armenia, reports violations during voting, Press Secretary of “Nasledie” party Ovsep Khurshudyan informed.
According to Khurshudyan, member of the Election committee from this party Mariam Palutsyan registered an episode of ballot box stuffing at the polling station No 32/5. “However, Chairman of this committee refuses to register the violation stating that nobody noticed any case of that kind”, he declared.
According to Press Secretary, the second episode took place in the settlement of Karadzor where cases of ballot box stuffing were registered, too.
Campaign headquarters of candidate Grant Bagratyan received a statement of open balloting at the polling station No 07/28 of Yerevan. “Ex-Deputy Head of the region Armen Bagdasaryan together with a certain citizen made marks opposite the name of candidate Serzh Sargsayn instead of the electors and dropped them into the ballot boxes”, a representative of the candidate’s campaign headquarters informed.
During several hours of voting 88 statements of violations were submitted to Prosecutor General’s of Armenia. Explanations were given on four cases with a decision to initiate a criminal case on one of them. On 20 cases it was decided not to start criminal proceedings, information of the rest cases is still under inspection, Armenia Today reports.
Meanwhile, Head of Observers’ Mission of Parliamentary Assembly of OSCE, Chairman of OSCE Ricardo Maliori said that the observers did not register any problems.
