In Baku, about 15 persons hold action in defence of Hilal Mamedov's rights
Today, in front of the Baku Court of Grave Crimes, about 15 persons protested against holding the trial behind closed doors against Hilal Mamedov, the editor-in-chief of the newspaper "Tolyshi Sado" (Voice of Talysh).
The protesters came to the building of the Court in medical masks, covering their mouths in such a way. Thus, they protested against silencing critical voices.
Ten minutes later, the police pushed the crowd from the doors of the reception to the opposite sidewalk; however, the police did not hinder holding the protest action. Forty minutes after the beginning, the protest action has been stopped, and its participants took off their masks.
"The protest action was successful, and it attracted the interest of local and foreign journalists," said Rafiq Djalilov, one of the organizers of the protest action, Co-Chairman of the Committee for protection of Hilal Mamedov's rights.
As far as the court session is concerned, it was continued behind closed doors.
