In Baku, refugees hold protest action in Tbilisi Avenue
Today, in Baku, a group of internally displaced persons (IDPs) from Nagorno-Karabakh blocked Tbilisi Avenue, and traffic on the avenue was restored after the intervention of the police.
The protest action of refugees took place in front of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs.
Earlier, the refugees lived in unfinished buildings in the 9th district of Baku, and in the course of their protest action, they demanded to accommodate them into the buildings with normal living conditions.
At present, according to their story, they live in the basements of the buildings built for the refugees in the village of Mekhtiabad. The participants of the protest action were invited to a meeting at the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, the agency "Vesti.az" reports.
According to the Police Department of the Yasamal District, Tbilisi Avenue was opened for traffic as a result of the efforts of the police, the "Trend" reports.
