Givi Targamadze: record of conversation with Sergey Udaltsov on preparation of terror acts in Russia fabricated
Video record on the preparation for organization of mass riots in the territory of Russia was fabricated. This was told by Givi Targamadze, the former head of the Parliament Committee for Defence and Security, in his interview to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
On December 11, 2012, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) stated that Givi Targamadze provided financial assistance to the activities of Russian oppositionists Sergey Udaltsov, Leonid Lebedev and Leonid Razvozzhaev on organization of mass riots. Today, the ICRF reported that they received the reply from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russia that Givi Targamadze was not immune from legal processing. According to the ICRF's information, Givi Targamadze became a defendant in the criminal case on organization of mass riots and was put on the wanted list.
According to the Georgian politician's story, the video record that depicted his meeting and conversation with Sergey Udaltsov was fabricated. "I watched the video record, and there, the voice-over spoke of the terror acts," Givi Targamadze has stated. He has explained that he believes that proves the fact the video record was edited.
Commenting on the fact that he has no immunity from prosecution, Givi Targamadze has stated that he is on the list of MPs from the faction of the "United National Movement".
"The extradition is possible only if Georgia and the country-applicant have concluded an agreement on the mutual transfer of criminals. However, there is no agreement on mutual extradition between Georgia and Russia. Therefore, any extradition of our citizens is out of the question," stated Irakli Chilingarashvili, the representative of the General Prosecutor's Office of Georgia.
