In Georgia, monument to Stalin desecrated
At night on February 8, in the village of Dideba near Tbilisi, unidentified persons painted the monument to Stalin in pink. In Georgia, since the beginning of the year, this is the third similar incident with regard of monuments to Stalin.
Near the smeared monument in Dideba, rubber gloves and a can of paint were lying.
Local residents believe that the desecration of the monument involves activists of the oppositional "United National Movement", the "Georgia Online" reports.
On February 7, the similar incident took place in the village of Akura (the region of Kakheti, Eastern Georgia). There, the bust of Stalin was removed from the pedestal and also poured with pink paint, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
Responsibility for the bust of Stalin smeared with paint in the village of Akura was undertaken by participants of the action "I painted monument to Stalin", which was announced on the "Facebook" on February 6, the IA "News-Georgia" reports.
