42 refugee families move to new apartment in Georgia

On February 4, in the Georgian city of Gori, 42 refugee families received keys from their new apartments.

The refugees moved into two buildings, which earlier housed kindergartens. The houses have been completely renovated by the Ministry for Refugees.

The residential flats were handed over to the refugees for a symbolic price – 1 lari. The new tenants are 10 families from emergency buildings, and 32 families classified as "living in very difficult conditions," including those who had lost the roof over their heads as a result of fires, the "Georgia Online" reports.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that in 2013 the Ministry for Refugees plans to provide housing to more than 2,500 families, both through construction of new houses and renovation of existing ones.
