Mayor of Maikop Michail Chernichenko resigns
The today's sitting of the Presidium of the Council of People's Deputies of the city of Maikop has discussed an application lodged by the head of the administration of the capital of Adygea Michail Chernichenko about his resignation from his post at his own will.
A source in the City Council told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that with a high probability Chernichenko's resignation will be approved in compliance with all official procedures.
"This is exclusively my initiative and my decision," said Michail Chernichenko himself, commenting on his resignation, the NIA "Kuban" reports, noting that Alexander Narolin, the current head of the tax inspectorate of Takhtamukai, will be the acting Mayor of Maikop.
For the last time Chernichenko was elected to the post of Mayor of Maikop on March 2, 2008; then, he won the trust of 65.6 percent of the voters. His term of office is to expire this September, the RIA "Novosti" reports.
