Davitashvili: Georgian wine can return to Russia this spring

Today in Moscow, the first round has been completed of negotiations on resumption of supplies of wines and mineral water from Georgia to Russia.

Earlier today, Gennady Onischenko, the head of the "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision), met his Georgian counterparts to discuss a possible return of Georgian goods to the Russian market.

Georgian products can return to Russian retailers already by the end of spring, said Levan Davitashvili, the head of the National Wine Agency of Georgia. Mr Onischenko has stated, in his turn, that it may occur even earlier, the "Interfax" reports.

He has specified again that the point is only about supplies of bottled wines, not the wine materials, which would be supplied in tanks and bottled in Russia, the RIA "Novosti" reports.

According to the head of the "Rospotrebnadzor", in about a week, three expert groups will go to Georgia with the aim to inspect the enterprises, which had expressed their readiness to resume exports of wines and mineral water to Russia.
