During a meeting with representatives of EU, UNO and OSCE South Ossetia raised the question of its citizens serving penalty in Georgia
Today a meeting of representatives of the authorities of South Ossetia with co-chairpersons of Geneva discussions on security in Transcaucasia from EU, UNO and OSCE was held in Tskhinvali. The agenda of the forthcoming on March, 26-27, 23rd round of negotiations was discussed with the delegation of co-chairpersons of Geneva discussions.
“During the meeting we emphasized that the fate of our citizens convicted and serving penalty in Georgia remains the most important question for us”, representatives of the Apparat of Plenipotentiary of the President of South Ossetia for post-conflict settlement said to the “Caucasian Knot” correspondent.
They added that the most significant point concerning the fate of the citizens of South Ossetia who were in prisons of Georgia was a large-scale amnesty in Georgia that would last two months.
The representatives of South Ossetia also emphasized that signing a legally bound document of non-use of force still remained the main result expected from Geneva discussions for the republic.
