North Osetian Communists report on fraud during presidential election

The secretary of the North Osetian regional branch of the Russian Communist Party (KPRF) and envoy of Communist presidential contender Nikolay Kharitonov, Nataliya Mikhaylenko, told in her telephone interview with the Caucasian Knot correspondent that the March 14 presidential election in North Osetia had bee held with gross violations. "Ballots were thrown into a ballot box before the very eyes of our observer. By records, the voter turnout came to 97-98% at some polling stations. Pressure was put upon state employees in order they went to vote. In spite of it, our estimations show no more than 15% of republican voters took part in the voting. It means there was almost no election in North Osetia," she said.
