Candidate for presidency of Armenia Arutiunyan declared his intention to withdraw his candidacy
Today candidate for presidency of Armenia Aram Arutiunyan, leader of “National Consent” party, declared his intention to withdraw his candidacy from the election and go on a one-day hunger strike.
Aram Arutiunyan said during a press conference today that he would declare rejection of his nomination 10 days before the election, February, 8, and hold a hunger strike one day earlier, February, 7, in front of the building of Central Election Committee demanding from Serzh Sargsyan to withdraw his candidacy and become a guarantor of fair and transparent election.
Arutiunyan said that in his opinion, the political parties were experiencing pressure before the election and by means of a hunger strike he was going to demonstrate that nobody could compel him to do anything.
