In Armenia, OSCE experts begin monitoring preparations for presidential election

The OSCE team of experts, representing 11 countries and based in Armenia, started its observation mission. This was announced by Heidi Tagliavini, the head of the OSCE mission, at the today's press conference.

"Those 13 experts are the core of the mission of observers. Soon, 24 long-term and 250 short-term observers will arrive in Armenia," Heidi Tagliavini has reported.

According to her information, the observers of the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe will hold permanent monitoring of the pre-election campaign.

"The observers will focus their attention on issues of conformity of the election to the legislation of Armenia and the international standards," Heidi Tagliavini has emphasized.
