About 30 people in Armenia took part in an action for release of convicted activists of ANC
Participants of an action of oppositional Armenian National Congress (ANC) demanded release of four convicted activists of the party in front of the building of Prosecutor General’s.
“The guys are not guilty of anything; the court must apologize before them and release them immediately”, one of the women participants of today’s action of protest said.
“Situations like this become the reason why real political forces earlier rejected participation in the presidential election (appointed on February, 18, - note by the “Caucasian Knot”), Head of ANC parliamentary fraction Levon Zurabyan emphasized.
On July, 20, 2012, the court sentenced Tigran Arakelyan to six, Artak Karapetyan to three, David Kiramidjyan and Sarkis Gevorkyan to two years of imprisonment. They were all accused of resistance to a representative of authority and hooliganism.
