In Rostov Region, deputy head of IVS suspected of abuse of power

The deputy head of the IVS (temporary detention facility) of the inter-municipal department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) "Krasnosulinskoe" is suspected of abuse of power with using violence. This was reported by the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) for the Rostov Region.

According to the investigators' version, on December 19, 2012, the deputy head of the IVS exceeded his official power and struck a 27-year-old arrested person under investigation with a rubber truncheon.

After that, the suspect handcuffed the arrested person to a ring embedded in the wall of the corridor in the IVS and left him in that position for a while. The victim reported on the illegal actions of the policemen to the investigating authorities, the website of the ICRF for the Rostov Region reports.

The suspect will be dismissed from the police. This was announced by the press service of the Chief Department of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for the Rostov Region, the "Interfax" reports.
