In Sochi, about 50,000 persons left without heating because of boiler failure

Tonight, in Sochi, the boiler plants that serve three heavily populated area of the city have stopped working. This was reported by a staff member on duty of the control service of the Municipal Unitary Enterprise (MUE) "Kotelnye Sochi". About 50,000 city residents are deprived of heating.

"Boiler plants of Sochi located in the residential neighbourhoods 'New Sochi', 'Gagarinsky' and 'Svetlana' cannot function because of absence of electricity that disappeared at about 08:00 p.m. for unknown reasons," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by the staff member of the control service.

According to the information of Igor Vinogradsky, Chairman of the territorial public self-administration (TPS) "Gagarinsky", in total, about 50,000 city residents live in the neighbourhood "Gagarinsky", "Svetlana" and "New Sochi".

"I have a small child, and we live in the residential neighbourhood 'Svetlana'. The heating is permanently switched off. Today, the temperature is zero. And the temperature at home is cooler than outside. The situation in the city is a mockery," the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent was told by Irina Savushkina, a resident of the residential neighbourhood.
