Georgia's GPO exempts Irakli Okruashvili of money laundering charge
The General Chief Prosecutor's Office of Georgia has decided to close one of the cases instituted against Irakli Okruashvili, ex-Minister of Defence.
At night on November 20, Irakli Okruashvili, who was earlier granted political asylum in France, returned to Georgia, and he was placed in the Gldani Prison. Irakli Okruashvili was charged of organizing illegal armed formations, money laundering, abuse of power and attempt of coup d'etat.
Today, the Prosecutor's Office closed the case on money laundering. This was reported by "Georgia-Online" with reference Zviad Kordzadze, the advocate of the Irakli Okruashvili.
The advocate demanded to free his client of charge of money laundering during the court session held on January 5, the "Trend" reports.
