Relatives of residents of Chontaul village killed during special operation claim their innocence
In Dagestan, relatives of the citizens killed during the special operation held in the village of Chontaul claim that the perished persons were not members of illegal armed formations (IAFs) and ask to conduct the objective investigation into the circumstances of the incident.
In the morning of December 28, 2012, in the village of Chontaul of the Kizilyurt District, a man and a woman were killed during the clash. The killed man was identified as Rasul Kugiev suspected of involvement in the attack on policemen committed on December 18. A woman was identified as his wife Rasiyat Kugieva.
The Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy) was contacted Salimgerei Guseinov, a resident of the city of Khasavyurt and a cousin of Rasul Kugiev. He has reported that his relatives have nothing in common with militants. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent in the human rights organization.
"Rasul and his wife Rasiyat were not involved in anything stated in the media. They were engaged in khidjama (bloodletting medical treatment, – note of the "Caucasian Knot"), and Rasul also had a small workshop at home, where he did small bunk beds in accordance with customers' orders," Salimgerei Guseinov wrote in his appeal.
The killed husband and wife Kugaev were active accomplices of the illegal armed formations. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Askhabali Zairbekov, Chief of the Kizilyurt ROVD (District Interior Division).
