ICRF: in Krasnodar Territory drunken policeman knocked down a man with a child

On May 28, in the Tbilisi District of the Krasnodar Territory, a policeman knocked down a 27-year-old man with a child of 9, who were on the road shoulder. The injured persons were taken to hospital with multiple injuries of varying gravity.

As reported by the territorial Investigating Department of the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF), a policeman from the detention group of the local MIA, when driving his car, at the turn of the road in the farmstead of Severin, got onto the road shoulder and hit a cyclist with a young passenger. The medical examination revealed that the policeman was drunk.

The press service of the MIA has also notes that at present the suspect is detained; and his freedom restriction measure is considered.

The policeman was not on duty, said the website of the above Department of the ICRF. A criminal case was opened against him under Part 2, Article 264, of the Criminal Code (violation of traffic rules by a person in a state of intoxication).

On May 29, the Chief Department (CD) for the Krasnodar Territory of the Russian MIA fired the policeman guilty of the traffic accident.

"Lieutenant General Vladimir Vinevskiy, the commander of the above MIA Department, appointed a check, by the results of which, the policeman was sacked for negative reasons. The policeman's immediate boss was removed from duty; materials are now prepared for his dismissal from the MIA Department," says the website of the territorial CD of the MIA.
