Armed men tried to kidnap a local in Grozny, eyewitness reports
In Grozny, near the marketplace "Berkat", armed men in masks and camouflage tried to kidnap a local resident, Said Umarov, a market employee, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
The incident took place on December 28 at about 8:00 a.m., said the eyewitness. "A black Priora car without state number plates made a sudden stop at the place where fixed-route taxis usually make a stop. Four men in masks and camouflage jumped out of it and caught one guy. First, they threw him on the ground and began beating and kicking in the head, back and stomach. They wanted to throw him into the car, but the crowd fought him back. Women raised a cry and brought the guy in the side. He was tall, thin, seemingly he was about 25-27 years old," said the employee of the marketplace "Berkat".
According to Umarov, the guy said that his name is Akhmed, and that he might have been kidnapped because of his wife's cousin. "They're killing people here just because some of your relatives is a militant, irrespective whether you're guilty or not."
The on duty officer at the Lenin ROVD of Grozny told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that he was unaware about the incident near the marketplace "Berkat".
