Sochi residents complain about poor quality of drinking water

In Sochi, in the residential neighbourhood of "Zavokzalny", water in the water pipelines has acquired an unpleasant smell, and it is impossible to drink it. This was reported by local residents.

Water can be used for drinking and cooking only after receipt of satisfactory test results. At present, the water is being chlorinated. Drinking water is supplied in the water carters of the Limited Liability Company (LLC) "Yugvodokanal". This was reported on December 27 by Demyanova, the manager of the LLC "Yugvodokanal".

According to the version of staff members of the LLC "Yugvodokanal", the situation could be caused by the accident in water pipeline in the residential neighbourhood of "Zavokzalny" that occurred as a result of the earthquake.

"Starting from the morning, the water in the taps in residential neighbourhood of 'Zavokzalny' began to smell like sewage. In the afternoon, water carters with water arrived to different streets of the residential neighbourhood. People with bottles, buckets and jars took water," said Sarkisov, a resident of Titov Street.

"The most dangerous thing in this situation is that no one deigned to inform the residents about the threat of water contamination in the neighbourhood," said Semyon Lavrov, a resident of Tuapsinskaya Street.
