Georgian Parliament overcomes presidential veto on Law "On Amnesty"

The Parliament of Georgia has overcome the presidential veto imposed on the part of the Law "On Amnesty". 91 MPs have voted for the initial version of the Law that does not contain remarks of the President. Therefore, the voting has met the requirement of the law of necessary 90 votes to overcome the veto.

When meeting the overcoming of the veto, MPs from the ruling coalition "Georgian Dream" were standing up and clapping, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

David Usupashvili, Chairman of the Parliament, has announced at the meeting that the Parliament will repeatedly send the draft law "On Amnesty" to the President for signing, if Mikhail Saakashvili refuses to sign it, then the right of signing of the draft law passes the Chairman of the Parliament. The signed draft law will come into force after its publication.
