Dagestani resident reports on unlawful detention of her son

Dagestani law enforcement agents unlawfully detained Murad Shuaibov and later took him away to Kabardino-Balkaria. This was told to the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent by Baiat Shuaibova, the mother of the detainee.

"On December 20, my son was detained by unidentified armed men. His friend Magomed became a witness. He said that Murad was roughly tied, thrown in a Gazel car and taken away to some unknown destination. Later, it became known that the power agents from the OVD (Interior District) of the Soviet District of Makhachkala were involved in the detention," the woman said.

"My son was allegedly detained for unlawful possession of a gas pistol, converted to fire with live ammunition," Baiat Shuaibova said. She believes that the weapon was planted to her son.

The woman has reported that judge of the Soviet District Court of Makhachkala pronounced for Murad Shuaibov the pre-trial restriction measure in the form of a monthly custody and that today, without any notifications, the detainee was taken away from the local SIZO (pre-trial prison) and brought to Kabardino-Balkaria.

She fears that her son was taken outside of Dagestan to subject him to psychological and physical pressure.
