KBR buried KBAU Rector Boris Zherukov

Today, the Kabardino-Balkarian Agricultural University (KBAU) said farewell to Boris Zherukov, its Rector, who was shot dead by unidentified persons on December 25 in his office.

The mourning rally in memory of Zherukov brought together more than a thousand people; it was attended by the head of the republic Arsen Kanokov, members of the government, MPs, students of the university, and the local public.

The mourning ceremony was opened by Ruslan Khasanov, the Chairman of the Government of the KBR. "The casualty was one of the best sons of Kabardino-Balkaria – a teacher, scientist, Doctor of Sciences, Professor, a great family man and a true friend," he said.

Sergey Neverov, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, called the death of Zherukov "a great loss."

The speakers noted that Boris Zherukov greeted students by handshaking; he was open and accessible to all.

Boris Zherukov was buried according to Muslim customs in his native village of Psygansu, Urvan District of the KBR.
